Design & Visual Programming EV3 Robotics

The LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 is the latest model from LEGO’s MINDSTORMS Robotics line, but getting started with it can be quite a challenge.  Following the teaching curriculum established by the Carnegie Mellon Robotics Curriculum, this program allows individuals to experience first hand programming and using ROBOTC with LEGO EV3 robots to complete challenges and tasks that have been designed to help them understand robot logic and how robot technology and the combined use of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Science can be applied to real-world cases that need resolutions.

Along with an interest in robotics, a major skill set needed for this course is the ability to work in teams. This robotics class will use the LEGO®MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 Base Set and Software customized for beginner to intermediate learners ages 7-17 (Min Age: Must turn 7 by 12-31-15). Curriculum is delivered in small team clusters so that an appropriate skill level of learning can be achieved at an effective pace.

This robotics program is ideal for young minds that enjoy problem-solving and want to develop interpersonal skills through working in a collaborative team setting. If you like mechanics, engineering, ever wondered about what makes things ‘Tick’ or simply have a curiosity of how things work, then this is the place for you! As students have fun building robots and competing in robotics missions, the popular robotics courses provided in conjunction with
LEGO® MINDSTORMS®Education EV3 Base Set and Software lay a strong foundation for future study in computer engineering, math, mechanical engineering, and other STEM subjects.
