Invite Braintech Robotics to your community

Throughout the year, BTR Academy offers engaging one-hour workshops tailored for youth ages 7-17*. From hands-on experiences with real robots to programming and flying drones on real-world missions, our workshops bring excitement to learning through gamified experiences for up to 30 participants. Led by our Waterloo team of under graduate students from the Engineering Sciences and Arts faculty programs, these workshops are provided at a nominal cost. Simply complete a quick application – it only takes a minute! If selected, we'll connect with your community library, school, or centre to arrange an exciting workshop experience.

At Braintech Robotics (BTR), we are committed to inspiring and empowering youth through technology. BTR Academy offers a range of workshops and programs designed to engage youth aged ten to sixteen in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities. Our expert instructors guide participants through interactive sessions covering topics such as drone technology, robotics, AI coding, and more.

In our drone workshops, participants learn the basics of drone technology, flight mechanics, and safety protocols. Through hands-on activities, they gain practical experience in piloting drones and explore the potential applications of this exciting technology.

Our robotics programs introduce students to the principles of robotics engineering, from building and programming robots to participating in robot challenges and competitions. Participants learn valuable skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and project management.

In our AI coding sessions, students delve into the fascinating world of artificial intelligence. They learn to code and train their own AI models, gaining insights into machine learning algorithms and automation techniques.

Our tech exploration sessions cover a wide range of emerging technologies, including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and Internet of Things (IoT). Participants have the opportunity to experiment with cutting-edge tools and platforms, sparking their curiosity and creativity.

BTR partners with local libraries, schools, non-profit organizations, clubs, and community leaders to host workshops and programs for youth. Our expert instructors facilitate the sessions, ensuring a fun and engaging learning experience for all participants.

Most BTR Academy workshops are offered to participants free of charge. In some cases, hosting partners may charge a nominal fee to offset administrative costs.

Workshops are open to students currently enrolled in the hosting school or organization. Parents can inquire with their child’s school or club leader to learn more about upcoming BTR Academy opportunities.

BTR Academy workshops are specifically designed for youth aged ten to sixteen and are not open to adult participants at this time.

Volunteer opportunities with BTR Academy are available to current BTR employees.
